Are You a Drug Addict?

Are You a Drug Addict?

Are You a Drug Addict?

If you rely on cortisol and adrenaline to achieve your KPIs daily, then YES you are a drug addict. I know because I use to be one too.

Get R done! Go-Go-Go! Chop Chop! Keepin' up with the Jones's.

We have funny slogans to push harder
Productivity is called work ethic
It's a badge of honor.

I personally know people who "log every minute" of every day
We judge people by their KPIs

What if your Key Performance Indicators were:
Happiness
Purpose-Driven
Giving Back
Inspiring Others
Authenticity
Balance
Calm

But instead you choose:
Noise. Notifications. Fear. Sugar. Stress. Doom scrolling. Overworking. Overstimulating. Never stopping. Distractions. Interference.

Now for my personal confession:
I ended up with Hashimoto's (hypo-thyroid)
I burned out to the point of analysis-paralysis
It took my body time to stop the automatic cortisol triggers

Here's what I learned as I quit my need to constantly push:
Spaciousness is medicine.
Silence is medicine.
Sleep is medicine.
Slow movement is medicine.
Breathing is medicine.

This is your wake-up call
A sisterly nudge from me to you

Your body eventually forces the shutdown for you
Heart attack. Burnout. Panic attacks. Autoimmune disease. Emotional collapse.

The body keeps score.
And it always collects the debt.
